From 2007-2011, ROCKY MCCORKLE constructed a sequential photo series that revolves around the life of 84-year-old widow, Millie Holden. Based on Millie’s own experiences of an event centered elsewhere, “You & Me On A Sunny Day” is an ambitious fictional story about the malleability of memory and the impact that media has on our way of life.
Technically, each image in the series is a large-format (8x10-film) photomontage; each exhibition print is 40"x80". Using a specific combination of chrome and negative film, these full-focus images are comprised of up to 22 sheets of film.
The collection of still photographs in the TEASER 1 section is part of a silent film composed of 120+ images.
FROM START TO FINISH, THE FINAL EXHIBITION WILL MEASURE 900+ FEET IN LENGTH (Stretching more than 3-FOOTBALL-FIELDS). |
